Editing of you website is done on line. I find it is easiest to open two browser windows. Have one showing the front-end of the site, this is what the public sees, and the other showing the back-end of the site, this is where the editing goes on. To gain access to the back-end simply click on the <Administrator>option in the Other Menu and type in the username and password that you have been given. [Note that the Other Menu is usually positioned immediately below the Main Menu, down the side of the screen].

Once your username and password are accepted you will be sent to the Home page of the Joomla Administrator area. You will see 10 large iconsin the centre of the screen, 5 tabs on the left hand side and a menu along the top of the screen. The functions represented by the 10 large icons are duplicated in the drop down menus along the top. In practice you will use the drop down menus much more often than you will use the large icons.

Once you have made and saved a change in the back-end, you can see what it will look like to the public by switching to your other browser and clicking on refresh.

When you have finishedediting the site, you can logout by clicking on <logout> at the top right of the screen.
