Email Accounts

When we set up your website you will have chosen a number of email accounts in the format your.name @ yourdomain.ext (eg. info @ flatwhitedesigns.com or david.mcnally @ flatwhitedesigns.com).

These can be designated either as full accounts or forwarding-only accounts. Full accounts can store incoming emails and be used to send emails. Forwarding-only accounts receive emails and forward them straight to another account. They do not store any emails. No emails can be sent in the name of the forwarding-only accounts.

Our default configuration is as follows:

  • one full account
  • the full account is set to hold only the 10 most recent emails. All older emails are deleted.
  • all accounts set to forward to your current email account

Using Webmail

The full account can be accessed on line by going to http:// webmail.yourdomainname.ext. You will be greeted by a log in screen where you must enter the name of the full email account and the password that you have been given. When entering the name of email account, only enter the part before the @.

Setting up your local email client

If you want to send emails in the name of your full account without logging onto webmail, you can configure your local email client (eg. MS Outlook) to support this email account. Settings are as follows:

  • Connect to IMAP server
  • email address = yourname @ yourdomain.ext (remove spaces either side of @)
  • incoming mail server = mail.yourdomain.ext
  • outgoing mail server = mail.yourdomain.ext
  • user name = yourname @ yourdomain.ext (remove spaces either side of @)
  • password = this is the same password that you would use to log into webmail
  • reply email = yourname @ yourdomain.ext
  • outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and settings are the same as incoming mail server
